KARACHI: Two bridegrooms were arrested and cast into a police lockup late Monday night with three other relatives under the Explosive Act for use of firecrackers during a wedding ceremony that created fear and panic in parts of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti police said.

However, on Tuesday both bridegrooms, who are brothers, were released on bail, said SHO Abbas Ali Kolachi.

The police had registered an FIR (155/2015) under the Explosive Act against the grooms, Sufiyan and Nauman, and their three relatives on charges of using firecrackers at the marriage hall near Hasan Square.

The case was registered on behalf of the state.
