PTI RIFTS WIDEN: Differences between local PTI lawmakers and ‘ideological’ workers have further widened as the latter has decided to field their own candidates for the forthcoming local government elections in the district.

An announcement to this effect was made at a convention of the ‘PTI ideological workers’ held at Town Hall here on Monday.

MPA Deena Naz, former PTI district president Altaf Qadir, former president for southern region Engineer Rasheed, PTI president for the Gulf Engineer Haroon and the ulema wing leader Mufti Rehman Taj were also in attendance.

The speakers claimed that PTI in Karak had been hijacked by selfish and self-centered leaders and the ideological workers had no say in party affairs.

They rejected the so-called parliamentary board of the party at the district level for awarding tickets to the aspiring candidates for the local bodies’ elections.

They resolved to field own candidates on all the seats, and claimed that they would prove ideological workers were the real asset of the party.

They accused the local lawmakers of promoting own relatives and friends in total disregard to the party manifesto.
