PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Monday complained about the prolonged power outages and escalating inflation and blamed it on the inefficiency of the provincial and federal governments.
Addressing a public meeting in the provincial assembly constituency, PK-5, here, the QWP leader said the rulers were now looking for excuses to quit power as they have been unable to honour the pledges made during the election campaign.
He said despite tall claims the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government couldn’t provide any relief to the people in the face of skyrocketing inflation.
Sikandar said the people of middle and poor classes were unable to lead life with honour but the rulers were least bothered to pay any heed towards their issues.
“Lawlessness, militancy and power outages have made life miserable for the people, who have become disenchanted with the rulers,” he said.
The QWP leader said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wasted public funds and didn’t initiate development schemes to benefit the poor during its two years tenure and that the people were dodged only with tall claims.
