KARAK: The people of Makori and adjoining localities have threatened to stop supply of crude oil from the central processing facility (CPF) if they are not given their share in the production bonus and oil and gas royalty funds.
An announcement to this effect was made at a meeting chaired by former tehsil nazim Hameedullah Khattak here on Saturday.
The participants said that the people of Makori and adjacent localities had given 3,200 kanal of land to the Oil and Gas Development Company on nominal prices for establishment of CPF.
But, they said the government and the elected representatives had ignored the area in development projects.
They said that Rs10 million approved for development schemes by former provincial minister Mian Nisar Gul was not released.
They pointed out that some areas of Jatta Ismael Khel union council had been included in the district council, thus depriving them of share in royalty and production bonus.
SECURITY OFFICIAL KILLED: A security official was killed and three others were injured when their vehicle overturned while saving a motorcyclist near Fateh Sheri Banda on the Indus Highway here on Saturday.
The injured were shifted to women and children hospital, Karak, where Lance Naek Zafar Iqbal succumbed to his injuries.
The injured were identified as Naek Mazhar, Naek Liaqat and Sepoy Sajid Hussain.
Later, they were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Kohat.
