PESHAWAR: Lala Amir Siddiqui, a journalist and owner of a news distributing agency, died here on Wednesday after protracted illness. He was 85.

His funeral will be held in Khushal Bagh on Warsak Road here at 11am today (Thursday).

Amir Siddiqui launched his career as reporter in daily Nawa-i-Waqat and later remained editor of a weekly ‘Tanveer’.

The deceased was father of Attique Ahmed Siddiqui, a former general manager of PTV, columnist Faaiz Amir, and Intikhab Amir, a former correspondent of Dawn.
