ISLAMABAD: A former federal minister has been named in an FIR for rape and sexual harassment in the federal capital city on Wednesday.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader at Islamabad's Bara Koh police station on the complaint of a woman who had earlier approached additional sessions judge (East) for the registration of a case.
According to the FIR obtained by DawnNews, the woman, a human rights worker, said that she has been getting threatening phone calls from men linked with the ex-minister and fears for the lives of her children.
Previously, the former minister was also implicated in an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) by two pharmaceutical companies.

Unless there is a real implementation of laws in the country, nothing will happen. Stop making fun of the laws by bring these cases to the news. I blame the judiciary for not doing their job. I feel bad for this and all other victim who have been wronged at the hand of these few elites.

For all those who are asking for the name of the minister are clearly quite dumb. The case has been filed and there is no verdict yet. Nobody should be defamed without proof. It can be false too. Just because he is an ex-minister, it doesn't mean that there's a high chance that he did it. Surprised to see such illogical thinkers here.

Very brave woman. I hope the case will be taken seriously by the courts and the media and the PPP ex-minister will be punished - hopefully punished hard - lets hope the case would not follow the examples set by some of the tribal jigra punishments handed out the victims - poor girls/women - instead of the perpetrator.
