LAHORE: The Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) appointed Shakeel Ahmad as a head coach of the national team, a spokesman of the body said on Tuesday.

Shakeel, a former Pakistan captain, returned from New Zealand where he completed coaching courses and his first assignment with the team comes in may when the Pakistan 15 side takes part in a three-nation tournament in Tashkent. Having made his international debut for Pakistan in 2006, Shakeel was also assistant coach to Roger Combous.
