LAHORE: An election tribunal on Saturday sought personal appearance of Railway Minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq in the NA-125 alleged rigging case.
The tribunal also directed returning officer of the National Assembly constituency to produce record of two polling stations (120 & 151) on next date. The tribunal had held inspection of eight out of 10 selected polling stations. Record of the two polling stations was not produced before the tribunal on Saturday. The tribunal would resume hearing on March 28.
The tribunal is holding inspection of the record on application of Hamid Khan, runner-up candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for NA-125.
Khan challenged the victory of PML-N’s Saad Rafiq alleging that he rigged the election and a large number of bogus votes were cast in his favour. He asked the tribunal to hold inspection of complete record of the constituency so that the alleged rigging committed by the returned candidate could be established.
