KARACHI: K-Electric, Brighto Paints and Nadra emerged as the only winners in the third-round matches of the Patron’s Trophy (Grade-II) Cricket Tournament on Thursday.

K-Electric, as expected, outclassed Pakistan Customs by an innings and 27 runs in the Group ‘A’ fixture at the UBL Sports Complex. Customs were all out for 248 after resuming their second innings at 113-2 on the last day of the three-day game.

Brighto Paints trounced Candyland by an innings and 82 runs in the Group ‘C’ clash at the Mode Town Greens Cricket Ground in Lahore.

Candyland, who mustered a paltry 90 in the first innings, added another 135 to their overnight second-innings’ tally of 55-1 before being dismissed for 190. Mohammad Waheed caused most of the damage with six wickets for 44 runs.

After forfeiting their first innings in the rain-hit Group ‘B’ match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Nadra outgunned Pakistan Army by 204 runs.

Chasing 333, Army were all out for 128 despite Shafiq Ahmed hitting an unbeaten 53. Munir-ur-Rehman grabbed 5-24 and Ismail Khan 4-15.

Dollar East escaped defeat after following on against Khayaban-e-Amin by battling to 315-8 in their second innings of the Group ‘D’ match at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.
