LAHORE: A number of people from a village in Kasur gathered on Ferozepur Road, near Yohannaabad, to protest the killing of their relative, reportedly identified as Naeem, who was lynched by an enraged mob following the suicide attacks on two churches on Sunday.

The protesters were led by the dead man’s brother, Saleem, who told reporters that Naeem was a glass-cutter and had come to Lahore to purchase glass for his shop. “My brother was not a terrorist,” he said.

Meanwhile, police found a motorcycle near the crime scene and suspected that it might have belonged to one of the two men lynched in Yohannaabad.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rana Ayyaz Saleem said Saleem’s claim that Naeem was his brother could not be verified by police as both the victims were still unidentified in their record.
