QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has directed officials of Frontier Corps and the police department to remove blockades on Whyte Road near the FC headquarters and Gulistan road adjacent to police head office.
The court directed the deputy attorney general and advocate general of Balochistan to submit a report on the matter in the next hearing.
The bench comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Mohammad Ejaz Swati was hearing a petition filed by Talat Waheed Khan.
The court directed the National Highway Authority and Communications and Works Department to start construction work on Samungli road to solve traffic congestion problem near Koila Phattak.
It observed that people faced hardship due to hurdles on roads which caused traffic congestion. It said putting hurdles on roads was a violation of Article 15 of the Constitution.
The court directed the Planning and Development Department to approve payment of consultancy fee of Nespak (National Engineering Services of Pakistan) and the provincial secretary of finance to release funds within one week to accelerate the work on the project.
The hearing was adjourned until March 14.
