GUJRANWALA: Six protesters suffered injuries on Wednesday by the firing of a doctor’s son after an elderly man died in a private hospital in Model Town due to the alleged negligence of the medic.

Reports said the elderly man died in the hospital during treatment and his family alleged that the death occurred due to the negligence of Dr Habib Aalam, owner of the hospital. The family besieged the hospital and chanted slogan against the medic.

In the meantime, a son of the doctor came there and opened fire as a result of which six people including Basharat Bablo, Tariq and Shamas suffered injuries. At this, the protesters attacked the hospital and ransacked furniture and equipment.

A police contingent led by the Model Town SHO rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. Further investigation is under way.
