LARKANA: The Shuhada Committee chief Allama Maqsood Ali Domki has expressed dissatisfaction over progress on implementation of the 22-point agreement the committee had recently reached with the Sindh government and renewed his call for a massive crackdown against terrorists.

The Allama who was flanked by other members of the committee said at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday said that progress on investigation into the imambargah suicide attack was though ‘positive’ but it had raised many new questions as well.

At least 60 people were killed and many were injured in a suicide attack on the imambargah during Friday prayers on Jan 30.

He said that not only were there terrorists training camps in Sindh but also their facilitators and arms suppliers. Balochistan was the route of infiltration of arms and terrorists into Sindh, he said and urged Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik to crack down against such elements.

Referring to a statement of federal interior minister that 10 per cent seminaries were involved in crimes, the Allama demanded stern action against such seminaries which were allegedly involved in criminal activities.

He urged the government to take action across the board against terrorists and save Sindh from being turned into a Wana or Waziristan. The government should take effective measures to keep an eye on Sindh-Balochistan border to check supply of arms and entry of terrorists into Sindh, he said.

Answering a question, he said that a ‘mindset’ was out to create such chaotic situation in the province. There was no difference between IS, Daish, Taliban and Laskhar-i-Jhangvi, they were one and the same with similar mindset and were involved in terrorism and attacks on religious places, he said.

He said that nothing should be hushed up in the name of ‘sectarian’. “We have not only pinpointed three seminaries in Shikarpur but also shared vital information with the DIG of Larkana and SSP of Shikarpur,” he said.

He criticised the government for its failure to provide security to the imambargahs in Shikarpur and said that he was on the hit list of terrorists and was constantly receiving death threats but the government had not yet provided him security.

The Allama said the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leaders Maulana Rashid Mehmood and Maulana Nasir Mehmood met him on different occasions and assured him that they were against terrorists.

“We are strong supporters of Ittehad Bain-ul-Muslimeen,” he said and criticised the prime minister for sparing no time to visit Shikarpur and meet the heirs of the victims of suicide attack. He also accused Rana Sanaullah of meeting terrorists.

He said the chehlum of 64 imambargah victims would be held in Shiakrpur on March 6 and invited all ulema, leaders of political parties and nationalists to participate in the congregation.

It would be an assembly to convey message of peace.
