DERA MURAD JAMALI: A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was seized after an exchange of fire between security forces and suspected militants in Panjgur district on Sunday.

Official sources said that the FC personnel conducted a raid in Bonistan area after receiving information about the presence of militants there. However, armed men opened fire on the FC personnel, leading to the shootout in which heavy weapons were used.

“The FC conducted the raid on information received from people arrested earlier,” an FC spokesman said.

During the clash, the militants escaped leaving behind arms and ammunition, including three SMGs, two Kalashnikovs, two magazines of submachine-guns, four 30-bore pistols, two shotguns, 250 magazines of pistols and one sniper rifle.

The FC spokesman said that the suspected militants belonged to some banned organisations.
