UNITED NATIONS: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday warned world leaders against “discarding our moral compass” and giving in to fear, as he called for “cool heads and common sense” to deal with

what may very well be “the greatest test our human family faces in the 21st century”.

Addressing a conference hosted by the United States, Ban said “let there be no doubt,” terrorist groups like Da’esh and Boko Haram posed a grave threat to mankind.

Among those joining Ban on the panel of the White House Summit on ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ were US Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh were among those who spoke at the seminar.
