Eight labourers electrocuted in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: At least eight labourers were killed and another was injured due to an electric shock received while working on a tube-well in Muzaffargarh district on Thursday.

Nine labourers were engaged in the construction of a tube-well in Gudhpur village of Rohilanwali area in the outskirts of Muzaffargarh district when a pipe, used for boring wells, came into contact with a power transmission line.

Seven construction workers died of electrocution on the spot.

Rescue and emergency teams reached the spot and began shifting the victims to a nearby hospital.

One of the wounded labourers succumbed to his wounds while being shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
