KARAK: The local chapter of Tanzeem-i-Asataza Pakistan on Sunday demanded appointments on the key positions in all the educational boards through National Testing Service to bring transparency in the boards’ operations.

They also demanded that the draw for deputation of examination staff should be made by the respective province instead of the boards.

The demands were made at a meeting held here with the organisation’s district president Nek Badshah in the chair.

Speaking at the meeting, the organisation’s central leader, Khairullah Hawari, said that as educational boards played a pivotal role in promotion of education and curbing use of unfair means in examinations, so key positions should be filled through NTS.

He said that the boards were going to depute examination staff for the upcoming secondary school certificate exams in the province, and demanded that the draw for deputation of staff should be made by the provinces.

He alleged that deputations for examinations were not transparent as every year after the draw irregularities came to surface.

He said that the high ups of the boards made tall claims before the start of examinations that excellent and foolproof arrangements had been made for checking cheating, but no such arrangements were seen during the exams.
