ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) doctor was seriously injured on Saturday when he was fired upon by an unidentified gunman as he was coming out of the hospital.
According to a PIMS spokesman, Dr Shahid was in critical condition and has been admitted to surgical ICU.
"He was put on ventilator and all-out efforts were being made to save his life," he added.
Police were conducting a search operation in the hospital and surrounding areas to trace the accused.

What do you think a government can do in such a case except punishing the culprits? Even country like US cannot control it. Your comment is a bit biased ,Sir.

This is case of a personal grudge. I know a doctor whose daughter was killed by a disgruntled patient. Nothing to condone but an isolated incident.

The Police IG of Islamabad should be suspended immediately and this incident must be investigated. The Police is failing to protect the citizens. We, the residents of Islamabad hear noise of firing guns some times in the neighborhood. Why? all weapon licenses must be outlawed and cancelled. No one should bear arms except the law enforcement agencies. Why cannot the administration/government take this simple action quickly and swiftly for the sake of PEACE

That is impossible now. It is much too late. Forcing people to give up their weapons would lead straight to civil war in Pakistan.

Nawaz is the only one trying to create a better Pakistan.
No one else cares except Imran Khan. He cares but would be an ineffective leader with no business experience, little political power, and few international connections with other governments. Those who can't see their PM doing an excellent job don't want to look.

President Thomas Jefferson made the remark in 1801 that "Europe shall corrupt us."
It certainly did when the Mafia Black Hand arrived from Sicily and Southern Italy in 1900 and became America's lords of vice and crime.

Court gave verdict because prosecution could not prove its case. Simple and do you have a problem with that. We operate on the basis that it is OK to let a criminal walk as long as no innocent person is convicted of crime that he or she did not commit. In your mind suspicion is good enough to render verdict. Not so in a civilized society where you have to prove your case. Now RIP
