Pims doctor seriously injured in firing

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) doctor was seriously injured on Saturday when he was fired upon by an unidentified gunman as he was coming out of the hospital.

According to a PIMS spokesman, Dr Shahid was in critical condition and has been admitted to surgical ICU.

"He was put on ventilator and all-out efforts were being made to save his life," he added.

Police were conducting a search operation in the hospital and surrounding areas to trace the accused.
