ISLAMABAD: Police arrested a man for allegedly making a threatening call to the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Thursday.

The police said a team from the Industrial Area police station raided a village on Tarbela Road in Attock on Friday and caught the suspect on the basis of the phone call record.

The police said the accused was a resident of Haroon village near Hazro and son of a retired headmaster. He was arrested from the hometown of his mother and brought to Islamabad. During investigation, the suspect confessed to making the call to blow up the university. However, the police said the suspect was not replying to the investigators properly and seemed to be upset.
