TOBA TEK SINGH: Kamalia Additional District and Sessions Judge Zahid Husain Bakhtiar handed down death sentence to a convict and fined Rs200,000 in a murder-cum-murderous attack case on Saturday.

The judge also sentenced life-imprisonment to two convicts and fined Rs100,000 each.

The court acquitted 29 persons, including five women, by giving them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, convict Muhammad Sabir along with Muhammad Khalid, Riaz Ahmad and 40 others had killed Rajab Ali and injured dozens of his family members on June 4, 2013, over kidnapping of a girl of the accused party in Chak 739-GB, Jakhar.

GIRL KILLED: A 14-year-old girl was cut into pieces when her clothes entangled in an electric fodder cutter in Chak 287-JB, Pilasour, on Saturday.

The family said Parveen Sattar was chopping fodder for her animals when the tragic incident happened in the outhouse.
