SUKKUR: A team of the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco), carrying around Rs3 million recovered from some feudal lords against electricity dues in the Mureed Shakh area of Ubauro town in Ghotki district, survived an armed attack on them on Tuesday night.

Sepco superintending engineer Abdul Ghaffar Mako told the area police on Wednesday that the team of senior officials and other staff led by him came under armed attack while they were busy removing a transformer in order to compel a large number of defaulting consumers to pay their electricity bills and dues.

In his complaint, he said none of the Sepco personnel was wounded in the attack, nor did the attackers try to snatch the heavy amount of money they possessed.
