THE fairness of the commission investigating the oil crisis is questionable because, as stated by you, it is close to the finance minister and is headed by the adviser to the ministry of petroleum and natural resources, who himself should be investigated about his role and professional advice during the crisis.
There is a need to form a neutral judicial commission, which should in all fairness also scrutinise the role of the finance ministry.

DURING the last six to eight years, fuel prices have played a very crucial role in whipping up inflation.
As fuel prices increased, the public witnessed a sudden increase in the price of grocery items like eggs, wheat, milk and rice, as well as in the public transport fare.
It is the duty of the provincial government to ensure fair prices of day-to-day items which directly effect daily wagers. But, unfortunately, the advantage in the reduction of fuel prices are yet to be cashed in by those who are unable to make ends meet.
