LAHORE: The Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF) has constituted a six-member committee to frame its new constitution.

The decision was taken at a general council meeting of the PBF here on Monday.

The meeting, presided over by PBF president retired Brig Rashid A. Malik and secretary Khalid Bashir, decided that one member will be inducted jointly by three units Army, Pakistan Air Force and Navy in the committee and one jointly by Railways, Higher Education Commission and Police.

Similarly, four provinces, Fata and Islamabad will also jointly refer one member and furthermore nine divisions of the country will also recommend their one joint member.

Secretary Khalid Bashir will act as secretary of the committee while Sirajul Haq Qureshi is named as chairman.

The PBF general council decided the national federation would continue its work under a code of conduct until the constitution was framed. The house unanimously approved the code of conduct.

The PBF also approved a calendar of activities for the year 2015 under which championships and courses for referees and coaches will be held.

Departmental National Championship has been granted to Railways, Divisional B Grade National Championship will be hosted by Gujranwala and Divisional National Championship will be organised by Rawalpindi.

National School Championship will be hosted by Sargodha, National Women’s Championship will be held by Punjab and National U-18 Championship will be hosted by Sindh.

All Pakistan Tournament for Men will be organised by Hazara, Lahore, Kohat, Bannu, Peshawar and Karachi while All-Pakistan Tournament for Women will be conducted by Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi and Sargodha.

The Inter-Provincial Championship for Men will be held by Islamabad, Four-a-side National Championship has been allotted to Lahore while Three Pointer and Free Throw National Championship will be hosted by the federation itself.
