LANDI KOTAL: Three persons were killed and as many injured when rival groups traded fire over the fixing of a kiosk in Sheikhwal area here on Monday.

Assistant political agent Tayyab Abdullah said that his administration had affected a ceasefire between the two rival Sheikhwal groups, but they violated the ban. He said that a fine of Rs3 million had been imposed on them for violation of the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, a student was killed and two others were injured when two groups clashed at the government degree college over the distribution of funds for a study tour.

The rival groups used knives and daggers which resulted in the killing of a student identified as Abdul Basit on the spot, while two other students identified as Walid Khan and Fazal Haq were injured. Both the injured students were shifted to Peshawar as their condition was critical.

Assistant political agent Tayyab Abdullah told Dawn that the khasadar personnel took eight students into custody along with the knives and daggers they used in the fight.
