PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of hatching conspiracies against its government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, PTI provincial general secretary Khalid Masood and MPA Shaukat Yousufzai said that workers of PML-N were joining PTI as the party had lost its credibility.

On the occasion, a number of PMNL-N activists from Shangla led by Dr Fahad Khan announced joining PTI. Other PML-N activists, who joined PTI, included its provincial vice president Ahmad Fawad Khan, Mian Hassanzeb, Waqar Ahmad, Akbar Khan and Hidayatullah.

Mr Masood said that the provincial government would not succumb to any conspiracy as it was determined to serve the people. He said that other parties were opposing PTI as it had initiated anti-corruption steps.

“We are very much hopeful that the steps our government is taking will have far reaching effects and the people will fully support it in the next elections,” the PTI leader said. He added that success of the party could easily be judged from the fact that PML-N workers were joining it in different districts of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Fahad Khan said that the decision to join PTI was based on facts as PML-N failed to serve people. He said that people had attached great expectations to the provincial government.

He said that they joined PTI as they were impressed by its pro-workers policies and the steps taken against the corrupt elements.

Dr Fahad said that provincial government brought reforms in different sectors. He said that provincial government was implementing policy of merit in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan was urging other federating units to end culture of corruption and ensure implementation of merit at all costs.

The PTI general secretary welcomed the new entrants into the party and said that it would strengthen the party. He said that the party would give due status to the new comers.

Mr Masood said that provincial government was implementing its ‘agenda of change’ in the province. He claimed that effective steps were taken to eliminate corruption and ensure merit policy at every level in the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaukat Yousufzai also criticised PML-N for what he called creating problems for the provincial government and not paying its due financial rights. He said that despite limited resources, PTI was striving to resolve problems of people.

The MPA said that PTI focused on the problems being faced by the poor and lower middle class while the rest of successive governments always served the interests of upper class.
