ISLAMABAD: Two people died in separate traffic accidents in the city on Sunday.

Police said 80-year-old Sameen Khan, a resident of Swabi, was crossing the expressway when a car hit and killed him.

The Shahzad Town police arrested the driver and shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

In another accident, Abdul Mohammad, 21, a resident of Ghori Garden, was knocked down and killed by a car near Burma Town.

Meanwhile, a fire erupted in a TV cable office at a market in Sector G-7/3 early Sunday.

Firefighters reached the spot and put out the flames. However, cables, computers and other equipment in the office were gutted before the fire was extinguished.
