NOWSHERA: Body of a young man wrapped in a gunnysack was recovered from the bank of Kabul River near Mesri Banda here on Saturday.

Sources said that the police reached the locality after receiving information from the local people about the presence of a suspicious gunny sack on the river bank.

The police took the body into custody and shifted it the district headquarters hospital, Nowshera, for autopsy.

Doctors referring to the postmortem report said that the man was hanged to death with a rope.

They said that the body also bore marks of violence. The identity of the man could not be ascertained.

The Akora Khattak police registered case and began investigation.
