PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that his government is making efforts to provide congenial atmosphere to the investors and industrialists for industrial development of the province.

He said problems of industrialists were being addressed on priority.

He was talking to a representative delegation of Cherat Cement, Lucky Cement and other industrial units led by Salman Farooq, Usman Jhagra and Humayun Khan at the CM House here on Friday. The delegation apprised the CM of their problems and demands, according to a handout.

The chief minister said that the government was making sincere efforts to utilise natural resources of the province to the optimum level on its development alongside the other available resources for the well-being of masses.

“We are trying to give an attractive package and atmosphere to the investors for the promotion of investment in the province which also includes tapping the hydel resources for generation of inexpensive electricity,” he said.

Mr Khattak said as many as six new industrial zones were being established in various parts of the province, which would be handed over to the private sector.

He said that the government was also endeavoring for the creation of a society where rich and poor were treated at par and every citizen was bound to go by rules.

He said that political interference in the government departments and the tradition of red-tapism had been abolished.

The chief minister assured the delegation that their genuine problems would be addressed on priority basis. However, he asked them to take solid measures for halting emission of poisonous chemicals and smoke from their industrial units as it created health hazards in their respective areas.
