LAHORE: Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman (PCB) Najam Sethi has turned down the Board of Governor's (BoG) nomination of him as Chairman of the Bids Committee on Thursday, stating he did not want to be involved in the financial matters of the PCB.

Sethi, whom the PCB has nominated for the post of next president of the International Cricket Council (ICC), taking charge on June 1, is already the chairman of the Executive Committee — the most powerful body within the PCB. The BoG on Wednesday also nominated him for the Chairman of the Bids Committee for auctioning Pakistan Super League (PSL) rights.

Sethi, who already heads the Model constitution committee and the Media committee, however, declined his nomination for the PSL post.

"I am grateful to the Board of Governors for trust and confidence in me especially since I have personally worked hard to revive the idea and project of PSL, but I do not wish to get involved in financial matters and contracts," said Sethi.
