PESHAWAR: Six militants, among them three foreigners, were killed in a US drone strike in Shawal Valley on Monday.

A security official said the drone fired two missiles into a house in Shahikhel area of Shawal tehsil, about 45km to the west of North Waziristan’s headquarters of Miramshah. Three of those killed reportedly belonged to Uzbekistan.

The area is off-limits to journalists, so there was no independent confirmation of the number and identity of the dead.

This is the third drone strike this year and the 26th since the military launched Zarb-i-Azb Operation in North Waziristan tribal region.
