KARACHI: The weekly gymkhana race meeting that was scheduled to take place at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday was abruptly cancelled by the management late on Saturday night due to mourning call by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

“The races have been cancelled in the aftermath of the call,” said an official announcement at 10.36pm after sports pages have gone into print on Saturday.

According to Karachi Race Club secretary, Syed Ali Akbar Shah Rashdi, the next date for the races will be announced later.
