TIMERGARA: Eight people, including three women, of the same family were killed when a car fell into a well in Danwa area here on Saturday, hospital sources said.

They said that a non-custom paid car (PS Dir 2266), carrying the family of Gul Zamin from Chukiatan, Upper Dir, to Timergara, Lower Dir, skidded off the road at a sharp turn and fell into a well. As a result Gul Zamin, his son Bacha Zada, wife, brother Sher Zamin, a cousin Rehman Mohammad, a grandson and two women Kalkotai Bibi and Rukhsana, were killed on the spot.

The villagers rushed to the spot soon after hearing about the accident and pulled out the bodies from the well. Later, the bodies were shifted to district headquarters hospital, Timergara, from where they were dispatched to Upper Dir. The Balambat police registered a case into the accident.

The car was pulled out from the well with the help of an excavator. Local residents said that the well was located at a sharp turn along the road. They said that several accidents had occurred at the place.
