Peshawar: a tribute

Published December 25, 2014

IN your dungeon of devastating death, In your hour of deepest darkness I, a human, extend my hand In a clasp of warmth and sympathy My Pakistani brothers and sisters, Seize it in steel grip and place it on your heart See and feel how we care for our children Torn dreams and butterflies with laughing faces, dancing feet, shining eyes, happy hands.

Oh Allah! Lord of the World Extend your gown of grace On all children, dreams of the future, Create Their leap of delight into our waiting arms Their tiny tight hugs Their waterfall of joy and laughter Echoing again and again All over the world.
