KARACHI: Lines Area Gymkhana were crowned the inaugural champions of the Ahmed Mustafa Memorial Cricket Tournament after beating Baqai Dolphins by six wickets in the summit clash here at the Vital Five Cricket Ground.

Batting first, Baqai Sports posted 165-8 in their allotted 30 overs. Salman Ghani batted well for the side scoring 49 runs. Arsalan Saeed and Majid Khan captured two wickets each for Lines Area Gymkhana.

In response, Lines Area Gymkhana easily achieved the target with six wickets in hand in 25.2 overs. Majid Khan (57), Ali Jawad (51) and Mohammad Waqas (40) batted well for the victors. Wajahat Ahmed took two wickets for the losing side.

Chief guest Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui and Secretary Sports Sindh Laiq Ahmed distributed prizes among the players. The tournament was organised by KCCA Zone III in which 22 teams participated.
