QUETTA: Customs authorities impounded a truck in Kuchlak on Saturday and recovered from its secret cavities some 400 kilograms of heroin and 27kg of opium.

Collector Customs Balochistan Zahoor Akhtar Raja told journalists that the value of heroin was around Rs5 billion.

Two men travelling in the vehicle were arrested.

“The drug is of fine quality and was to be smuggled to different areas of the country.”

The truck coming from border area was carry-ing the drug to Quetta, he said.

The two suspects are being interrogated to track down their accomplices, Mr Raja said, adding the suspects belonged to Wana, a neighbouring area of Zhob district.
