SAHIWAL: A boy axed his younger sister to death allegedly for ‘honour’ in 121/7-R village, Kasowal, on Friday night.

Umer had warned his sister, Bushra, to break off her relationship with the youth. He even told his father about it and both men warned Bushra against it.

On Friday night, Bushra was talking to the youth by phone when Umer hit her with an axe and killed her on the spot.

Kasowal police arrested Umer along with the axe.

The investigation officer said the body was handed over to the family after autopsy. The police also registered a first information report on the complaint of Bushra’s father.

KILLED: A watchman was killed by four unidentified men on Friday night.

Zahoor worked as a watchman at a compressed natural gas station near Chichawatni Bypass.

A witness said four men arrived at the station in a car at 11am. Zahoor shouted at them at which they opened fire that hit Zahoor in the chest. The assailants escaped, while Zahoor was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition by Rescue 1122 personnel. Rescue sources said Zahoor died before reaching the hospital.
