THIS is apropos your editorial ‘Death for terrorism’ (Dec 19). While I would have liked to respond to all the points raised, my immediate response is needed to the following statement:
“Besides, the death penalty will always remain a cruel and inhumane form of punishment, even if those sentenced to die are found guilty of having perpetrated the most barbaric of acts.”
Can Dawn please suggest an alternative punishment for these barbarians? Are human rights only for criminals, terrorists and militants?
Poor victims have no human rights.
