LAHORE: Former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik partnering Zahid Zafar won the 50-plus doubles title in the ITF Senior Tennis Championships at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts here on Saturday.

Rashid and Zahid defeated the pair of Inamullah-Narish Khatari pair 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

In 35-plus doubles, Haseeb Aslam-Shaharyar Salamat duo will clash with Adnan Majeed-Faisal Majeed pair in the final. In the semi-finals, Haseeb and Shaharyar defeated Bhagat Ali and Asad Bhagat 6-0, 6-2 while Adnan and Faisal carved out a 6-3, 4-16 (10-8) win against Irfanullah and Israr Gul.

Meanwhile in 45-plus doubles semi-finals, Asad Niaz and Haseeb Aslam defeated Rashid Malik and Imran Siddique 6-2, 3-6 (10-6) to qualify for the final where they will meet Irfanullah and Umar Ayaz, who overcame Pawan Jain and Naveed Hussain 6-3, 6-1 in the other last-four clash.

In the 50-plus singles class, Inamullah outplayed Naraish Khatri 6-0, 6-1 while in the 65-plus singles category, Pervez Bajwa outclassed Asif Dar 6-1, 6-1.
