Dollar East Royal CC lift T20 title

KARACHI: Dollar East Royal Cricket Club clinched the Haji Zaman Memorial Trophy T20 title when they beat Umar CC by 11 runs in the final here at the Hill Park Ground on Wednesday.

Ijaz Shah smashed a hurricane 53 off 25 balls, hoisting six sixes and one four and Arif Khan blasted five sixes in his 30-ball knock of 49 as Dollar East Royal CC piled up 192-7 in their 20 overs.

Umar Imtiaz also contributed a fine 40 with three sixes.

Slow left arm spinner Yaqzan Rajput grabbed three wickets for 27 runs in four overs.

Omar CC, in reply, were bowled out for 181 in 19.2 overs. Nadeem Shaikh top-scored with 44 laced with five sixes and one four.

Sohail Khan and Tauheed Khan caused the main damage by sharing six wickets between them while conceding 27 runs each.

Nadeem Omar, who was chief guest at the final, distributed the prizes and awards.
