TOBA TEK SINGH: An anti-power theft squad on Tuesday seized a novel device fitted inside a meter that makes it run only when someone comes in front of it in a raid at Chak 188-GB.

According to Kamalia Fesco Exen Afzal Kathia, the team detected the power meter installed outside the house of two village residents -- Sultan Ahmad and Liaqat Ali.

Mr Kathia said the device was a kind of motion sensor that made the power meter work only when some one comes in front of it, otherwise the meter remained dead, allowing electricity theft.

He said a case had been registered by Rajana police against the meter owners and after their arrest the real culprit who invented the device would be nabbed.

MAN KILLED: A man died while his son and a daughter were injured seriously on Tuesday in a traffic accident on Toba-Chichawatni road.

According to Rajana police, Talib Husain of Majhi Sultan (Jhang) was on his motorcycle, along with his 14-year-old son Danish Ali and daughter Misbah Parveen (11) when, near Chak 266-GB, a trailer coming from opposite side hit the bike.

As a result, Talib died on the spot, while his son and daughter were seriously injured.

Rescue 1122 staff shifted the injured boy and girl to local district headquarters hospital.

DEMO: Journalists staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday outside the district press club to condemn attack on the media persons by some PTI activists at the party’s Lahore rally on Monday.
