Indian music composer and singer, A.R. Rahman bagged three positions in the long list of 114 Original Scores for the Oscars 2015, Hindustan Times reported.

Rahman, who has composed the scores for Million Dollar Arm, The Hundred Foot Journey and Indian film Kochadaiiyaan made it to the list released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its website. The list will be used to determine the final five Oscar nominations which will be announced on January 15, 2015.

Known as the Mozart of Madras, Rahman had amazed the world by winning two Oscars for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire in 2009. His song “Jai Ho” penned by the veteran lyricist Gulzar was lauded all over the globe.

He was nominated again in 2011 for the song “If I Rise” for Boyle’s 127 Hours.

Another famous Indian singer and composer Sonu Nigam, along with percussionist Bickram Gosh have also been nominated in the same category for the film Jal.

After the announcement of the final nominees on January 15, the 87th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre—Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
