LAHORE: Senior PPP leader Makhdoom Shahabuddin has said his party and former president Asif Ali Zardari will give the “final push” to the PML-N government.

“The PPP and the party co-chairman will give the final push to the government,” Mr Shahabuddin said while addressing the workers at the Bilawal House in connection with the party’s Foundation Day here on Sunday.

Sources said Mr Zardari called him after he concluded his speech and told him that he should not have made such a statement. Some workers were allowed to speak before the co-chairman and they complained they were not being given respect by the party leaders. Some of them even chanted slogans against Jehangir Badr and Manzoor Wattoo for not listening to their grievances.
