Fashion Pakistan Week in Karachi: Day 3

Kicking off on November 25 in Karachi Fashion Pakistan Week Autumn/Winter 2014 ended on November 27 after the Day 3 concluded with Maheen Khan's collection "To Karachi with Love". The three day event was organised by Fashion Pakistan, which produces two seasonal fashion weeks every year. The third day of FPWAW14 began with Sadaf Malaterre and Maheen Karim's collection "Ravissant”, Nida Azwer's “Renaissance”, Mohsin Ali's for Sana Safinaz, Faraz Manan's "Shanghai" and Nauman Arfeen's collection “Royal Parade” were also displayed.

Off course this is not our cultural and I bed if they can move into the street of Pakistan in this dress, then what will happen?, because as I mentioned that this is a concepts of multiculturalism, identity, community, pluralism and it forcing to change our society with symbol laden significance.
The Pluralism is a determining concept of defining the new cultural being forced into our society to build in our social, cultural, religious is no longer pathology, but physiology. The nation we have inherited seems no longer exist, either explicative or representative and not even descriptive of social landscape of Islamic societies.

Sidra Khan, if you dont like what you see, then come to Fata and witness our real culture. This show is not for you. Some of us may not have enough money to buy a ticket. While rest of the world has progressed, we still belong to stone age. Some people never change. At least they are trying to make an effort.

Sidra and Sheikh, thanks for reminding that this is not part of our culture... how can it be? Our culture is all about religious intolerance, acid attacks, corruption, terrorist brothers, illiteracy, polio, dharna, gullu, Aamir Liaquat, Muhammad Aamir etc. Plus we do a good job showcasing our culture already. Who needs FPW?

Kawa chala hance ki chaal aur apni chaal bhi bhool giya..
This is a work of people who have slave mentality who have forgotten who they are ..rather copying those nations who have lost all moral values and as a result of it they are going away further and further from real purpose of our existence ..they are destroying women by providing them a platform to mislead simple and true women of society.

Culture evolves, it changes as we progress, we wear tie, jackets ,suits, we use forks, this langauge is not ours, many of our habits and manners have been influnced by foriegn culture. Lets have more of what I see in these pictures. We have to catch up with the 20th century, 21st for us is still very far away.

@Tahira Arshed there are few numbers of tycoons, who project this fashion, if someone disagree, it's because don’t have insufficient info. Then they can agree on what kind of info to get; they get the info; and the info solves the problem. Either I'm right, or they're right, or both wrong. And we move on. That kind of conflict resolution does not exist in our nation. Moreover an unbelieved truth can hurt a man much more than a lie. It takes great courage to back truth unacceptable to our times. There's a punishment for it, and it's usually crucifixion.

Our fashion designers can bring millions of dollars exporting to US, EU and off course to Bollywood.
From the local market they have potential to get large amounts as well. Local market may have two big segments 'traditional' - Shalwar / Pajamas, Qameez, Dupatta etc. and 'modern' - where they can design sleeveless, short shirts, pants etc.
We have people with different taste, education, background, income class and age. There is no doubt that Pakistani ladies look gorgeous in traditional Shalwar Qameez and those who with to go with modern attire should have choices too. We should come up with a society with choices not as society with compulsions.
