KARACHI: An estate agent was shot dead in Nazimabad No1 on Wednesday, the Rizvia Society police said.

They added that 45-year-old Syed Mukhtar Hussain was attacked at his estate agency where he was sitting with a friend. He sustained critical wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The police were inquiring into the incident from two aspects, said Rizvia Society SHO Mazhar Iqbal. The victim had a monetary dispute with someone that could be a possible motive for the killing, he said. Besides, since the victim was a Shia, the investigators were looking into the case from that angle also, added the officer.

Body found in Manghopir

The partially decomposed body of a young man was found in Manghopir on Wednesday, police said.

The body with a single bullet wound on the head was found in bushes on the Northern Bypass, said Manghopir SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai.

The victim looked to be a Pakhtun, the officer said and added that it appeared that he had died several days back.

The body was taken to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for want of identification.
