KARACHI: The Sindh gov­er­nment has conceived a development scheme with an estimated cost of Rs363.1 million to repair/renovate and rehabilitate the Sindh House at Islamabad along with its two annexes each separately for Sindh chief minister and the provincial governor.

The scheme is also aimed at converting the Sindh House into comparatively a beautiful building by virtue of its external and internal designs, and decorative works.

The scheme was reviewed by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah while presiding over a meeting held here at the CM House on Tuesday with the officers of the works and services department.

Sindh Minister for Works and Services Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Secretary Works and Services Kazi Shahid Pervaiz, Superin­tendent Eng­ineer Syed Zahid Ali Shah who was assigned the task and other officers attended the meeting.

Reviewing the scheme, the chief minister directed the officers to speed up their paper work and after completing all codal formalities, start the work in phases / portion to portion by the forthcoming January 2015.

Mr Shah also directed the officers to submit their summary about the volume of required funds which were supposed to be consumed by the end of this financial year so that ministers and officers of the Sindh government during their visit to Islamabad could get better facilities and environment.

The chief minister dire­cted the officers also to conceive another scheme for the establishment / construction of Chief Minister’s Secret­ariat within CM House premises but separating it from the CM House.
