Khairpur accident

Published November 27, 2014

I WAS surprised to know that an FIR has been registered against the National Highway Authority. How is the NHA responsible for the Khairpur accident?

If the road is to be blamed, then why other vehicles escape the accidents? The truth is that the driver of the unfortunate bus and no one else is to be blamed.

I have a personal experience of these Karachi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa buses. These run at breakneck speed: it is reckless driving. If a tractor is overtaking a rickshaw, these bus drivers do not wait and start overtaking the tractor. If someone is coming from the opposite direction, they will not reduce their speed.

It is not the first accident. The drivers of these buses must be taught a lesson by imposing heavy fines and other penalties so that innocent lives may be saved.
