KARACHI: Fahad Akbar blasted a quickfire half-century as Pak Korangi CC crushed Comrade Sports by a massive margin of 229 runs on the opening day of the KCCA President Cup here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Pak Korangi CC amassed 330-5 in the allotted 45 overs at the TMC Ground. Mohammad Zohaib (90) led the onslaught with Talib Ali adding 83. But the star was Fahad who bludgeoned 12 boundaries in an unbeaten 77 off only 49 balls.

Comrade Sports, in reply, mustered 101 all out in 27 overs.

In other matches decided on Tuesday, Zaheer Hassan CC defeated Islamabad Gymkhana National Gymkhana overpowered Al-Taj Sports and Landhi Gymkhana beat Youngsters Gymkhana.
