‘Ghosro Master’

Published November 25, 2014

A RECENT campaign ‘Ghosro Master’ has been launched on the social media by some activists in Sindh, raising the issue of ghost teachers.

The campaign is spreading like a wildfire and seems to be for the benefit of not only Sindh but the country. The results and benefits of this campaign can only be achieved if government authorities or the media assist this campaign.

Until now most reported teachers are either working for different NGOs or are associated with the media. It should be an alarm for the media and NGOs and they must take action.

This campaign can be used inversely, if not supported, to expose many. The other provinces should follow suit to expose these ghost teachers who are being fed salaries from taxes paid by the people.

The minor flaw in this campaign has been that the term ‘Ghosro Master’ is in Sindhi language, making it hard to search but people are invited to raise awareness.
