LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says the death of babies in hospitals of Vehari and Sargodha are intolerable.

“Those responsible for these deaths will face legal action,” he said on Saturday while presiding over a meeting.

Shahbaz said such elements should be awarded deterrent punishment so that no one could dare to commit such a criminal negligence in future.

He ordered immediate action against supply of syrup and substandard injections and registration of cases against the owners of the factories concerned.

The chief minister reviewed various steps taken with regard to further improving public health facilities in the province. He said the life of every child was precious and provision of the best health facilities was collective responsibility of everyone, including the government.

Reports of inquiry committees on the incidents of Vehari and Sargodha were presented in the meeting.
