QUETTA: The Account­ability Court Balochistan has convicted six former employees of the revenue department in Nasirabad and Jaffarabad districts of illegal allotment of state land.

Judge Rozi Khan Barach in a verdict announced on Thursday awarded two-year imprisonment and fine running in millions of rupees to four tehsildars, one qanungo and a patwari. They are Abdul Wahid, Hazrat Ali, Manzoor Ahmed, Liaquat Ali (tehsildars), Rehmat Ali (qanungo) and Khawand Bakhsh (patwari).

Former deputy commissioner Chaudhary Ramzan, tehsildar Ali Gohar and patwari Abdul Nabi were acquitted for lack of evidence.
